KRTS shortlisted in CIR Business Continuity awards

Here at KRTS International LTD, we are pleased to announce our recent shortlisting in the ‘Specialist Company Of The Year’ category at the 2021 CIR Business Continuity Awards. They recognised us for our digital response for the NHS during the Covid 19 challenge to resilience.
The issue
The COVID-19 pandemic brought additional pressures for health workers over and above that experienced by others. Staff were worn down and overwhelmed by the increased pressures on them over a prolonged period of time. Physical exhaustion had a knock-on negative effect on mental health, so supporting resilience became vital. For a lot of staff, professional boundaries were compromised. They could be forced in to work roles they had never experienced or deal with illness or death amongst colleagues and other people they knew.
We quickly developed an innovative package allowing the Trust to provide a needs-based continuum of services that seamlessly fit into their existing processes. This adhered to clinical best practice, recommendations by the World Health Organisation for support for health workers during the pandemic and ISO 22330: Guidelines for People Aspects of Business Continuity.
Our response
Our first action was to immediately distribute our KRTS Power To Respond® app to employees across the trust.
The app included
- Providing crisis-informed psychological education
- Enabling psycho-social support
- Engaging further support
- Building future resilience skills.
Our next step was to create an innovative, scalable, and digestible training process to be rolled out across all Trust team leaders helping them to support staff after a particularly difficult shift. Bite-sized e-learning taking under an hour gave awareness of the signs of emotional distress, a simple, safe and effective framework for wellbeing check-ins, and guidance on how to have conversations about mental health.
Finally, we digitised our 2 day trauma-informed psychological first aiders course with adapted skills sessions that could be run remotely.
Feedback for both the App and training courses came back extremely positive. Over 95% of users stating that they found the help that KRTS produced “extremely useful”.
We are very proud to have been shortlisted for this award. We would like to congratulate all the other companies who have also been shortlisted for this year’s awards.
